Loftness

The Bad Ax for skid steers is a high-powered forestry head ideal for a range of applications, including land clearing, vegetation control, and fire prevention. The Bad Ax includes a fully machined, 60-inch diameter disc designed to cut trees up to 14 inches in diameter. Because the disc contains no welds, there are no areas subject to stress cracking. The disc is driven directly by the machine’s hydraulic motor. A polyurethane coupler offers excellent vibration dampening, and the direct drive eliminates the need to maintain belts.

John Deere

Available for its skid steers and compact track loaders, the RX72 and RX84 Rotary Cutters are designed for clearing medium-to-heavy brush and hardwoods up to 10 inches in diameter. Both models feature high-flow hydraulics, a severe-duty door and motors with a direct drive bearing. The MH60D Mulching Head can remove up to 203-millimetre trees and 305-millimetre underbrush and other woody materials. The two-speed hydraulic system effectively uses available horsepower without sacrificing power. The heavy-duty push bar topples foliage ranging from trees to brushes.

Gilbert Tech

The Gilbert GM-6 brushcutter-mower features a patented concept that cuts vegetation as opposed to mulching it. The cutting head is mounted on a folding boom arm which offers excellent maneuverability with a total reach of 16 feet. It can be easily installed on any existing carrier system, including graders. It is ideal for brushcutting ditches, back slopes and trimming trees on forestry, municipal, secondary roads and more.

Baumalight

The heart of a brush mulcher system is the design of the rotor. The 900 Series rotor teeth are available in either double carbide tipped ripper or single blade planer style. The carbide ripper tooth is a good general use tooth for mulching with lots of ground contact. If there aren’t many stones in the ground, then the planer tooth is more efficient. This heavy-duty brush mulcher is also equipped with a push bar, directional felling hook and optional two-speed motor.

Tigercat

The M726G is a 275-kW class mulcher based on the 726 series feller buncher. The M726G is well suited to right-of-way, vegetation management, land improvement and commercial clearing applications. Tigercat-built forestry-grade axles provide tough off-road durability, and come in a wide variety of configurations supporting single and dual tire installations to maximize performance in tough terrain.

FAE Group

The BL mulcher series designed for excavators from four to 20 tonnes feature FEA Group’s Bite Limiter technology. Special limiter rings made of “Hardox” wear-resistant steel are fitted near the teeth to limit the depth of blade action, guaranteeing optimum power management and exceptional performance. The UML/SSL is FAE’s new mulcher with fixed teeth rotor for skid steer loaders between 75- and 120-hp, and is equipped with a high-flow kit. The FAE PT-175 is a compact size track carrier with 173-hp.

Gyro-Trac

Gyro-Trac’s Boom Mount-Cutter head features the first-ever Self Sharpening Cutter-head teeth, which eliminates the need to sharpen cutting teeth daily. The Boom Mount Cutter-head is one of the lightest mulching attachments, which means it can be installed on smaller footprint equipment such as a mini-excavator and medium track hoes.
